Hi all, I have trouble with my application to sponsor my parents from Vietnam. Could anyone here tell me what i should do now? I have sent my application to sponsor my parents and my sibling in May 2004. At that time, my ex-husband was a cosigner for my application to meet the income requirement. Unfortunately, I and my
ex-husband got divorce in 2005, and I got married with my husband now in July this year. My ex-husband didn't want to be a cosigner for my application anymore, that's why i have talked to my lawyer that i want to put my new husband to be a cosigner. My lawyer said that will be ok to do that. I trusted my lawyer and do so. Now an officer in Missisauga called me and said that I cannot do that, if i withdraw my ex-husband, they will process about my income only, and my income is not enough to sponsor my family. She told me to withdraw my application, and start to apply a new application. I told her that if I start over again, I have to wait for more than 2 years for them to process my application before they send it to abroad Visa office. She said it gonna be like that. I can't apply a new application because if I start over, my sister and brother will be over age(22) at the time they start to process my application(over 2 more years). Does anyone here can help me in this situation? I would appreciate.
