Thomas,

If your job is approved by HRDC, you can apply the alternative path of Provincial Nomination Program which can be completed in 6 months. This is another choice apart from temp. visa which you are already working on. For details visit www.cic.gc.ca (http://www.cic.gc.ca)

Thomas, your employer must request a Labour Market Opinion for you and must give you a copy of it. Skilled Worker, the Alberta Provincial Nomination Programme and Work Permits rely on that Labour Market Opinion. They should not take more than 4 months to recieve one.

So what about if you live in the States next to the border; would you still need a temporary work visa to work somewhere in Canada if you were commuting to and from the United States?
